Kelly and Joe were married last December at their Indian Trail Club wedding in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. Since Christmas was coming soon after their wedding day, they wanted to embrace the vibe of a winter wedding as much as possible. They wanted it to feel romantic, with an abundance of candles! Even with almost 200 guests, their goal was to have an intimate evening with their closest family and friends. They certainly accomplished their goal!
Kelly and Joe met in Miami when her roommate, a mutual friend of theirs invited Joe to stay when his travel plans fell through. Kelly didn’t know about the invitation, so when he knocked on the door, she was nervous about a stranger staying! They were friends for a year and a half before they started dating. People always ask how Joe made it out of the “friend zone” and it was when he told her he reads Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone every year on his birthday. Kelly is an avid reader and works in a library, so it was a silly little thing that made her look at him totally different.
Joe asked Kelly to marry him on June 9, 2017. When she got home from work and went to let her dog out, the backyard was decorated with candles, lights and pictures of the two of them. It was perfect! Kelly says she is a very private person so she was happy their engagement is a moment only the two of them share.
Their wedding day was a magical Christmas fairytale. Their details were beyond elegant and the joy of Christmas and love was truly in the air. This will always be one of my favorite weddings that I’ve had the privilege to photograph!
