When your best friend decides to have an intimate wedding ceremony exactly 73 years to the day and date of her grandparents wedding, and asks you to photograph it, do you even hesitate to say yes!? Nicole and Ryan were planning a fabulous weeklong wedding celebration in Jamaica, but decided to have their official ceremony near where they lived in Hoboken with their immediate family. I was so honored to be there to capture it all, and only hoped that I could hold back my tears!
They had chosen Sunday, June 23rd as their date because that was the exact day and date Nicole’s grandparents had been married 73 years earlier. Nicole had a framed copy of their wedding invitation and their wedding photos, which when paired with her details (ahem, check out those Jimmy Choos!) was the perfect way to start the day.
Their ceremony was heartfelt and sweet, officiated by Ryan’s dad on the pier in Hoboken, NJ. Following the ceremony, we headed to their rooftop for a champagne celebration! We ended the day with a fabulous brunch at Molos in Weehawken, complete with NYC skyline views and an impromptu traditional Greek dollar dance and plate smashing! I love these two and their families, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it all!
