I couldn’t ask for a better wedding to kick off my 2015 season! Erin and Chris’s wedding day was the first sunny day after a long east coast winter and just look at their lovely, bright color choices in the flowers and other details! I feel as if we can thank them for ringing in spring! While we did take some photos at nearby Boscobel with it’s gorgeous views of the Hudson River, the majority of their day took place at the beautiful Highlands Country Club in Garrison, NY. And I have to say, I was so impressed with how kind, talented and efficient the venue and staff were. They did not miss a thing! From start to finish, the new Mr. and Mrs.’s day was a rollercoaster of laughs and tears, tissues and hugs, and so so many kisses. Every time someone saw Erin for the first time, the waterworks quickly followed. What was especially emotional was Erin’s dance with her dad, a musician himself who surprised her by recording his own rendition of ‘When you say nothing at all‘. Needless to say, there was not a dry eye in the house. Shortly after that, the Best Man delivered a speech that would leave even cynics with a lump in their throat. He told a story about how marriage is not 50/50, but 90/10. And not 90/10 in a hilarious way like the wife is always right, but in a supportive way like when your partner is struggling or sick or just not their best self, you need to be the 90 to their 10 to help them through it. He of course said this much more eloquently, but I think about it all the time now and will plan on retelling it often… But besides all of the happy tears, Erin and Chris’s family and friends were so excited to be there celebrating this super fun couple. They danced better than I’ve maybe ever seen, laughed heartily from their bellies and celebrated well into the night. It was such a fantastic group of people to be around. Cheers to Erin and Chris, may your love always shine as bright as it did on your Wedding Day!
Huge thanks to my fabulous second shooter, Jennifer Manzi, who captured epic moments throughout the day and was not ashamed to cry right along with me!
