Kristina and John’s Birkby House wedding in Leesburg, Virginia is one I had been looking forward to for SO long! When I first met with the couple to talk about their wedding photography, they hadn’t yet selected a reception venue or date, they just knew that they wanted to be married in either the bride’s home church in VA or one of the churches that they had been attending while living in the northeast. They also knew they wanted to have me photograph their day and were willing to plan the date around mine and their church’s availability… this is one of only a few times this has happened to me in my photography career and it is a humbling honor to have… When they decided on the Birkby House in Leesburg, I began pouring through photos online of the gorgeous venue and adorable town and started my countdown to their big day! Like their relationship, Kristina and John’s wedding day was deeply rooted in faith and built upon a foundation of their beliefs. Without getting lost in their beautiful and thoughtfully curated details {like the invitation suite handmade by the bride, the reconstructed gown that was once two-pieced and sleeveless, or their lush florals} and impeccable planning {with help from Suzanne of Legacy Weddings}, Kristina and John were intent on keeping their ceremony at the stunning St. John the Apostle Church as the most important part of the day. Surrounded by an intimate gathering of family and friends, the couple pledged their vows and rode gracefully by horse & carriage into their reception where they celebrated to the soundtrack of live bluegrass well into the night… Kristina and John, I wish for you many blessings, much love and most of all a lifetime of happiness!
