When choosing a photo session location, there are many factors both families and photographers consider. For families, they might want to choose a spot that is meaningful or convenient to them. For photographers, it’s all about the light and the landscape. Over time I realized that as your photographer, you are trusting me to capture you in an authentic way that’s consistent with my portfolio. And as I’ve frequented some locations over and over, I’ve become more comfortable with each area. I understand how the light changes during the day and throughout the seasons. I know the times to avoid crowds and what parking is like. I’m at ease in these spaces and can spend less time looking for spots to work in and more time focusing on the families in front of me.

Which is why this year I’ve pre-selected my locations. Each location lends itself to a backdrop that is consistent with my aesthetic and approach to capturing maternity clients. Plus, it’s one less decision for clients to make! I’m all about creating a simple, enjoyable and stress-free experience. By having your location already chosen, you are a little more freed up to start envisioning your session. I’m always happy to capture you in a place that you’ve chosen but I’ll encourage you to consider one of my favorite spots.
